Daniyar Akhmetzhanov

Working across documentary film, brand storytelling and digital media. His projects focus on people: their experiences, decisions and ideas that offer a different way of seeing the world.
He studied civil engineering at Nazarbayev University before building a career in film and creative production. Some of his earlier film work was released under the name Adam Good.

Daniyar’s films follow people whose lives reveal a wider story: mountaineers in Kazakhstan, founders in Silicon Valley and women working in technology. He directed and wrote iMountain and Salem, Dolina, and co-directed and filmed Her Code.
iMountain premiered at the Rassvet documentary festival in Almaty in November 2019. An expanded version was released online in 2020; the film also screened at an educational event in the Pavlodar region.
Creative direction
At Hero’s Journey, his work spans brand identity, campaigns and editorial projects. For The New Era of Fitness, he worked with Qaitadan on the brand’s first image campaign film. Earlier, at Playrix, he developed advertising concepts for the US market and led production with internal teams and external partners.
YouTube & digital production
His work on nFactorial Podcast and Privileged Few combines format development, direction and production. The projects bring together long-form interviews and documentary storytelling across Kazakhstan and the United States.
